One way to add an audio file to my blog page is to first find it on the web. I am stuck on this for now because my connection will not allow me to access mp3 sites.

I had not realised that if I want to upload audio files directly into wordpress then I have to upgrade my account.

Activity 1
International Travel Services Project 1
So far you should have completed Jobs 1 to 4.
Here are the links for:

Use a meal allowance of $150 per day and try to keep the overall costs uder $2000.
The business trip will depoart Melbourne on Monday morning, September 21, 2009, flies to Brisbane for three days of meetings, and returns on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 late in the afternoon (last meeting does not finish until 1:30 p.m.

Upload your Jobs 1 – 6 to the media section of your personal WordPress blog.

Due by start of class next Monday. Hand up a print copy with your name and class and date on it in a footer. Post a link to the class blog to each of the projects in your WordPress personal blog.

Activity 2 Using the class wiki

Create your own page in the class wiki.
Go to the page section and look for Cool Tools for Schools table. Add a short review of the website assigned to you to this page. Include your name in the heading.
Use the five page handout from last week and try the following -

(1) make a personal page,
(2) edit the page,
(3) create a link from one wiki page to another,
(4) link to an outside web page,
(5) upload a document and link it to your page,
(6) add a graphic to your page,
(7) embed a You tube video,
(8) embed a sound URL (see how you go with this one),
(9) adda google gadget,
(10) add a table.

Due by start of class next Monday. Post a link to the class blog to your personal page in the class wiki that shows Steps 1 – 10 from above in Activity 2.

Wikis
A wiki is a web site where everyone and anyone can not only write on the website, but they can also change what others have written.

Have you heard of and used Wikipedia? Click on the language that you want to read. Then type in wikis and see what comes up.

Here is one simple explanation of wikis. And here is another from a different viewpoint.

There are several wiki sites that are popular. These include Wetpaint, Wikispaces and pbworks.

For assessment for today

Open up on account with PBWorks . If you already have a PBWorks account from your IT class, then use that one to sign in.
Create your own page on the class wiki and add a short paragraph about yourself and add a background image that appeals to you. Add another heading called My Business. After this heading, describe the kind of business that you would like to create and call your own.
Go to the page section and look for Cool Tools for Schools table. Add a short review of the website assigned to you to this page. Include your name in the heading.

How can I take a better picture?

(1) Use a horizontal line across your picture that is off centre

Example 1

(2) Use vertical lines in your photo.

Example 2

(3) Use diagonal lines

Example 3 – page 1 and page 2

(4) The rule of thirds puts your focus off centre to create tension.

Example 4 – page 1 and page 2

What can I do now?
You have a choice – use the camera and go out and try these ideas on a few shots around school and then come back and edit them in firewords and then put them into your WordPress blog eiather as images or as links.

Or you could edit some of the images below that you guys have taken before.
